My Favorite Albums of 2010 (so far)...

As the first half of 2010 draws to a close and I’m sitting here at my parent’s house in Michigan preparing for a 4th of July weekend full of beer, BBQ’s, boats, fireworks, and parades, I reflect on what music has moved me over the past 6 months.

I could spend hours crafting this into a carefully-thought out list of my favorite albums and EP’s, along with the “biggest surprises” or “biggest disappointments”, or any number of other dissections, but I’ve decided to just keep it simple and let the music do the talking (maybe I’ll save the dissertation for the end of the year). Here’s what I’ve been listening to (in no particular order):

Four Year Strong - Enemy of the World
The Forecast - The Forecast
Jonsi - Go
Jeff Martin and Steve Padin - The First Joke & Other Matters
Lowercase Noises - Marshall - *Pay What You Want
Minus The Bear - Omni
The Seams - Spanish American - FREE Download
Local Natives - Gorilla Manor

Here are some other “Best Music of 2010 (so far)” Lists:

NPR - Listeners Pick 2010’s Best Music (so far)
AbsolutePunk.net - Mid-Year Top 10’s

Any glaring omissions that should be on my radar? Let me know in the comments.
