2012 In Review

2012, a year of ups-and-downs.

With over 200 blog posts in 2012 and close to 400 photos, it’s nice to go back at the end of the year and look back at things with fresh eyes.

Here are some of my favorite photos that I’ve taken in the last year.

Graphic title card with geometric interlocking circular rings and text reading '2012 IN REVIEW' over pale sky.

Ren Bostelaar wearing tortoiseshell glasses smiling down at the glowing screen of a smartphone in a dimly lit room.

Rain puddle on street asphalt reflecting bare winter tree branches and dusk sky beside a curb.

Silhouette reflection in a window overlooking New York City skyline with glowing Novotel signs.

Abstract triptych composition of deep blue ocean water ripples split into three vertical exposure segments.

Black and white low-key portrait of a man in a fedora hat lighting a cigar with a lighter flame in darkness.

Pennant bunting shadows cast across a limestone facade with barred windows and a red hydrant.

Couple sitting side by side on New York City rooftop terrace overlooking brownstone rooftops and urban skyline.

Curved white modern travertine balconies of the Getty Center in Los Angeles against blue sky.

Paper Route band performing live on concert stage amidst purple stage lighting and falling white confetti.

Modern building clerestory windows glowing at night behind chain-link fence and manicured hedges in California.

Silhouette of a woman standing on a California coastal hillside trail overlooking horizon at twilight.

Cozy cafe interior with red wooden chairs and tables along a white wall, with patrons behind.

American flag waving outside an open doorway looking out onto sunlit rolling green hills and trees in California.

Two-tone mint green and white vintage Volkswagen Beetle parked on a sunny California street curb.

SWISS aircraft with bold red 'SWISS' lettering viewed through an airport terminal window.

Turquoise waters of Lake Poschiavo reflecting snowy Alpine slopes from a Swiss train window.

Rugged snow-capped Swiss Alpine peaks under crisp blue sky with dark pine forest along lower ridges.

Dad wearing glasses looking out a curved Swiss train window toward snow-covered mountain ridges.

Soft bokeh blur of St. Moritz Alpine village lights twinkling warmly on snowy forested hillside at twilight.
